Toad coloring pages: free and printable

The collection brings together Toad, Toadette, Captain Toad, and friends from the Mario games. Pick a quick outline, a kart scene, or a group picture with Mario, Luigi, Peach, or Yoshi.

Choose by age and skill level

For a three-year-old, a large, familiar figure is often easier to enjoy than a busy scene. A seven-year-old may like adding color to a race or choosing details for several characters. Adults can join in too, especially with the medium-complexity scenes and their extra faces, props, and background action.

Easy Toad coloring pages for kids

The easy Toad pages have bold, recognizable shapes that work well for younger children and short coloring sessions. A simple Toad outline gives little hands room to practice staying inside the lines, while Toadette’s mushroom cap and dress offer a few clear areas to fill. Pixel-style Toad and the retro pixel design make a fun choice for block-by-block coloring.

For a livelier picture, try Toad racing in Mario Kart, running with a red shell, or kicking a shell toward Luigi. Super Mario and Toad, or the smiling Toad from Super Mario Land, gives kids a chance to color more than one face. The cute Captain Toad and Toad with Baby Yoshi make gentler scenes, while the medium-level pictures of Captain Toad with a pickaxe, Toad riding Yoshi, and the group with Peach, Mario, and Luigi invite a little more care around the smaller details.

Make up a Mario Kart race

Turn a racing picture into a quick storytelling activity. Pick a driver, choose a shell color, and imagine where Toad is headed; a red shell and a kart can set the scene, while Luigi or another racer gives the story a rival.

After coloring, children can describe who won and what happened on the track. For more game-themed pages, browse the Video Game collection or pair this activity with a Yoshi picture.

Toad the character and real toads

In these pictures, Toad is the mushroom-headed character from the Mario games, not a real toad. Real toads are amphibians, so they look quite different from Toad’s cap, vest, and boots. If a child asks about animals, a Frog page makes a useful companion for comparing a game character with a real creature.

What colors should you use?

Toad is often shown with a white mushroom cap marked by red spots, a blue vest, and brown shoes. Toadette’s pink cap and outfit make her easy to distinguish, while Captain Toad’s explorer gear gives you room to choose earthy colors for the hat, backpack, and tools.

For a race, use bright colors for the karts and shells so the action stands out. Children can also invent new cap patterns or team colors; there is no need to match every game image exactly.

Print Toad coloring pages as PDFs

Choose a drawing and tap “Open the PDF” to view its file, or use “Print” to send it straight to a printer, including from a phone. Select fit to page if the edges look close to the paper margins. Regular paper suits crayons and colored pencils; thicker paper can help when using markers.
