Choose from 24 drawings of the animated race car: McQueen on the track, with friends, beside a trophy, or dressed up as a monster truck. The scenes range from uncluttered outlines to group pictures that give you a little more to look at and talk about.

Who Is Lightning McQueen?

Lightning McQueen is an anthropomorphic motor car from the Cars films. John Lasseter and Joe Ranft created the character, who appears in Cars, Cars 2, and Cars 3.

The pictures show different sides of his racing life. He competes at the Piston Cup, speeds around a track, and poses with a trophy; other scenes place him with Mater, Sally, Mack, or fellow racers Bruiser Bukowski, The King, and Jackson Storm.

Choose by Age and Coloring Level

For a 3-year-old, start with a large, simple outline and just a few crayons. A 7-year-old may enjoy adding color to the car, road, and background in a racing scene. Adults can join in with the same pictures or choose a busier scene for a slower, shared activity.

Easy Lightning McQueen Coloring Pages for Kids

The easy drawings have bold, readable shapes that work well for young children. Pick McQueen with the Piston Cup trophy for a clear subject, or choose the simple outline when you want to begin coloring right away. The Rust-eze and Dinoco sponsor designs also give kids a chance to notice the lettering and symbols on the car.

For a little more storytelling, choose McQueen with Mater, Sally, or Mack. The picture of Sally and McQueen driving together suggests a road trip, while the group with The King and Bruiser Bukowski is ready for a race-day tale. McQueen cheering a crowd, showing off, or heading around the track gives children a reason to invent what happens next.

There are also playful variations: a monster-truck McQueen, a birthday scene for a party, and a crash scene with extra details to fill in. The Christmas picture brings a seasonal touch, and the Halloween scene pairs McQueen with Mater in a costume-time setting.

Make a Lightning McQueen Race Story

Turn the coloring time into a small race-day adventure. Let your child pick a drawing, then decide where McQueen is going, who is beside him, and what the crowd can see. The Piston Cup, a track, and the friends from Radiator Springs give you easy prompts without needing a long setup.

Use crayons or colored pencils to give each car its own look, then add a road, flags, or a cheering crowd around the scene. For the monster-truck drawing, imagine a different kind of race; for the birthday picture, make up who brought the cake. A child can tell the story aloud while an adult colors too.

Print Lightning McQueen Coloring Pages as PDFs

Choose “Open the PDF” to view a drawing, or “Print” to send it straight to a printer, including from a phone. Use fit-to-page settings so the whole car and scene stay inside the margins.

Regular paper works well with crayons and colored pencils. For markers, try thicker paper, and use pencils for the smaller lettering, wheels, and racing details.
